Governor of Kastina state, Dikko Umaru Radda has pledged his full support and commitment to the aspiration of Hon Aminu Sani Jaji for Speakership of the 10th Assembly.

Hon. Jaji, one of the leading aspirants for the Speakership of the 10th House of Representatives had visited the Governor on Saturday in company of some House members-elect to seek his supports for the Speakership race.

Governor Umaru Radda noted that Hon.jaji was not just a friend but a brother who stood by him during his own aspiration to become the Governor of Katsina State and therefore did not need to bother about seeking his support before giving.

“I am totally committed to your aspiration” He stressed, adding, that when the issue of zoning came, none of the governors from North West was consulted nor their opinion sought as political leaders from the zone.

“At least we should have been consulted by the party as regards to who they think we should support but unfortunately we hear the news of the anointed candidate just like other Nigerians. The issue of who becomes speaker should have been decided by leaders of the zone not otherwise “.

Governor Radda while reassuring Hon. Jaji of his total support also advised him to ensure that he engaged other governors from the North West region to solicit for their supports and advice.

Earlier, Hon Jaji had informed the governor that he was in Katsina to seek his advice, support and prayers in his quest to become the speaker of the 10th Assembly, stressing that the idea was born in Katsina and that by the grace of God, the celebration would be solemnised in Katsina..

‘”Although there was a lot of intricacies within our party but what is the most important thing is our victory and that victory is our collective responsibility to ensure that our people get the desired dividend of democracy and the only way we can achieve that is to have a robust National Assembly that can be for all.

‘Am contesting this position not because I am better than anybody but because of our belief that we can bring positive changes to the National Assembly.

‘We don’t want the repeat of what happened in the 9th Assembly to continue in the 10th Assembly. Otherwise, what we promise our constituents would not be achieved
