Abuja residents defiled the high transport fares occasioned by the naira sacsrcity and came out in their numbers to on Thusday, February 9, 2023 attend the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council,  (PPCC) rally at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10 Garki Abuja.

Various support groups of the party’s presidential candidate Ex-governor Peter Obi started arriving the venue as early as 10 Am with different dance troupes.

Peter Obi and his Vice Presidential candidate, Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed who flew in from Yenagoa, Bayelsa State Via Warri in Delta State stormed the campaign venue at about 4 pm with their entourage.

Hajia Aisha Yesufu, the ever vibrant civil society activist was at her best with her swags as she and the Nollywood legend, Kenneth Okonkwor took turns to speak to the audience before the candidates made their entry into the venue.

Klint da drunk comedian was also on hand to entertain the crowd which maintained lively mood all true despite the long  wait for the arrival of their beloved candidate .

Each support group also came with twits own refreshments which further demonstrated their organic nature .
In his usual charisma, Obi chose to enter the venue through the popular entrance to acknowledge cheers from supporters and the crowd surged unto his vehicle held him for more than twenty minutes before he was finally allowed to step out of his sports utility vehicle .

After speeches from the FCT chairman of the Labour Party, the Senatorial candidate,  Ireti Kingibe and the Datti Baba-Ahmed, Obi delivered his owned address by first apologising for his lateness which according to him was due his earlier engagements in Bayelsa and Warri.

He said his message was simple and brief, “all am here to tell you is that it is time take our country back from those who gave us poverty, insecurity, out of school children and university strike”.The PPCC Chief Spokesperson, Dr Yunusa Tanko had earlier in his speech appealed to the supporters to use their permanent voter’s card to make a big statement of history come February 25, 2023.He also announced that the campaign train was moving from Abuja to Lagos.
