The Gani Fawehinmi Memorial Organization , (Gafamorg) will on the 22nd of April organize a posthumous lectures in honour of the Late Legal luminary, Chief Fawehinmi and his co-crusader, the Late former Civilian Governor of Kaduna State Abdulkadir Balarabe Musa.

Addressing a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday to herald the occasion, the duo of Comrade Agunbiade Babatunde and Mallam Kissimmee Balarabe Musa noted that the lecture planned to acknowledge the indelible exploits men to ensure social equality for all Nigerians.

“The exploits of both Chief Gani Fawehinmi and Mallam AbdulKadir Balarabe Musa who bestrode the Nigeria landscape and fought all their lives in ensuring social equality, human dignity and rights of every Nigerians to have a sense of belonging and live a decent life cannot be over emphasized. These duo imprimatur left in the sands of time remain indelible till date, resonating in all spheres of human endeavour”.

Chief Gani Fawehinmi throughout his lifetime fought for the masses, dregs of the society and equally celebrated with the physically challenged and beggars while Mallam Balarabe AbdulKadir Musa championed the cause of the less privileged and Talakawas; a noble cause both identified with all their lives in ensuring social justice which must be a template, indices or parameter to measure human dignity.

“When Mallam Balarabe AbdulKadir Musa was with us, he advocated for social equality and equity within Nigerians of all class, to berth/birth a psyche of true citizens of this great country where we are all stakeholders.”

It should be remembered that the two gentlemen stood for multiparty democracy hus winning the case at the Supreme Court including the right of civil servants to join political parties and that has greatly enhanced and advanced  the nation’s democracy.

Speaking on the theme and sub-themes, “Gafamorg in its quest to consolidate on the immortalization of those two quintessential great heroes believe that social inequality and injustice are the bane of social vices which leads to insecurities in the mould of terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery which are currently ravaging Nigeria especially the North.

“A case study is the recent unfortunate incident of the Kidnapped Kuriga students in Kaduna which the State Government in collaboration with the Federal government rose to the occasion and rescued the abducted students, a case of one too many which the lecture according to the organizers would focus on during the event”.

The organizers in driving home the importance of the lecture has out lined the following three  themes: “MAIN THEME: SOCIAL JUSTICE AS A FOUNDATION FOR HUMAN DIGNITY.

SUB-THEME 1: TOWARDS RESTORATIVE JUSTICE SYSTEM, PARADIGM FROM THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM IN KADUNA.

SUB-THEME 2: THE NORTHERN ALMAJIRIS SYSTEM, YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW” to address the contemporary social challenges.

Dr Yunusa Tanko, one of the close associates  of Late Fawehinmi and the last National Chairman of the National Conscience Party, (NCP) founded by the Fawehinmi himself has been designated the Director General of the Event
