Arewa Youth Flays Gbajabiamila’s Use Of Asiwaju’s Name To Project Abbas
——Warns Against Appointing Him COS

The National Coordinator, Arewa Youth Alliance,  (AYA) Mallam Mohammed Gidado has flayed the attempt by the out-going Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila to deceive members-elect into believing that the President-elect,  Asewaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has anointed Hon. Tajudeen Abbas the  Speaker of the 10th Assembly.

In a statement issued in Abuja Sunday evening, Mallam Mohammed descibed the attempt as callous, condemnable and unbecoming of a leader of his standing.

“We join the array of several other groups in condemning this unpatriotic move by Hon. Gbajabiamila and hereby advise the president-elect to distance himself from this kind of character if he must succeed in his renewed hope mantra.

“It is widely speculated that he is lobbying to become the chief of staff, (COS) to the president-elect and he has just displayed to Nigerians the kind of deceitful jobs to expect if he succeeds in getting appointed COS to Asewaju.

“This is indeed an eye opener to all. We have gone through this route before and we cannot afford a repeat of such at this trying moment of our history”. The statement stressed.

“Nigerians voted overwhelmly for Asewaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu because of his antecedents as a nationalist and it is expected that his appointments will deepen and reflect his nationalist attributes. The statement noted.

“AYA equally wishes to use this medium to warn Hon. Gbajabiamila whose leadership in this 9th Assembly is full of atrocities to desist from using Tinubu’s name to promote an agenda that is even unpopular within the ranks of the members-elect of the APC.
