If you doubt it, hear him in his resignation letter to HE Peter Obi. *’I have invested too much in your campaign to allow my personal travail to become a source of distraction. In the circumstances, I have opted to step aside and plead that you appoint a new Campaign DG who can continue the assignment with zero distractions.’* Evidently showing no obsession nor desperation to hold onto position with a clenched fist, so, why shouldn’t we reckon Dr Doyin Okupe as the hero of the Fourth Republic?
Critically speaking, the conviction of Dr Okupe for money laundering, what is tagged _’honest mistake’_ , at this material time, is nothing short of syndicated attack to simply de-market Obi-Datti candidacy by detractors. But the Ogun State-born former Presidential Aide came out so forthright, thus setting himself as an Exemplar ; a selfless and masses-oriented politician, the type that is never found in the Old Order, but which becomes a sign of what we envisage in the Obi-Datti and LP-led New Nigeria.
