Former President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has paid tributes to the late

Brazilian football maestro and legend Pele, stating that the global icon brought magic to the game.

In a condolence message posted on his social media accounts, Dr. Jonathan further described the hero of three World Cups as a man who recorded notable strides and great achievements on the pitch.

He stated: “Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pele, was more than a legend. He put his feet up so high to conscientise and unite the world.

 “He brought magic to the game of football and joy to the rest of us. He was so charming that Pele became the name of the game.

“Pele will always be celebrated  for his notable strides and great achievements on the pitch.”
