The Enugu State governorship candidate of the Labour Party, (LP), Honourable Chijioke Edeoga has confirmed the arrest of armed thugs in Isi Uzo Local Government Area, Sunday morning.

He disclosed that the  thugs who were arrested by a combined team of army and police personnel had been moved to the State,’s Police Command Enugu.

The Labour Party Candidate was speaking during a live interactive session Sunday night with the electorate on twitter space powered by #VawulenceSpace Media

He further added that the thugs were brought in by the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) apparently to rig the governorship election.

The killer squad allegedly from a community in Anambra State were quartered in the guest house of the local government in lkem at the instance of the chairman of the council.He said.

Edeoga also noted that the arrested criminals were recruited on the orders of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and that one of the seating House of Representatives’ members who just lost his re-election bid from Enugu East was involved in the recruitment of the suspects who are now chatting with the police.

Before now, there have been concerns about the Labour candidate’s security based on threats and desperations coming from the ruling party.

The arrest of the hoodlums in Isi Uzo, the local government of Edeoga has raised more concerns about his safety since he is expected to be in his home town Eha-Amufu latest by Friday evening to cast his vote on Saturday, March 18, 2023

The distance from lkem to his community is less than ten kilometres so moving the thugs to Eha-Amufu from the guest house on election day when vehicular and human movements are restricted will be swift.
