The Obidients Family in America has donated the sum of N700,000 to the family of the recently murdered Labour party’s Woman Leader in Kaduna State, Late Victoria Chimtex.
The money was presented to the bereaved family on Saturday 21th January 2023, with the N800,000 from from the party’s Presidential candidate, Ex-governor Peter Obi during the campaign visit to Southern Kaduna.The presentation of the money which summed up to N1.5million took place at the Kagoro Emir’s Palace in Kafanchan by Professor Edie Oparaoji, the Chairman the of USA Chapter of the Obidients, the support group of Obi/Datti candidacy.The National Chairman of Labour Party Barr. Julius Abure appreciated the USA chapter for the gesture.He said the chapter has demonstrated what the presidential candidate of Labour Party has been preaching about the need to show empathy to the afflicted. Barrister Abure who also thanked Ex-governor Obi for also making a donation of N800,000 to the family said, “though no amount of money can assuage the pains of the demise of Late Chimtex, it will help to defray burial expenses.
He urged the supporters and members of the Labour Party in Kaduna State to work extra hard to ensure that the death of the party’s Woman Leader who dedicated her time and resources to nurture the party in the state was not in vain.
