Your excellencies, compliments of the season.

I have been informed that you are in London for a retreat from which you will take a decision on which of the two presidential candidates between Peter Obi and Bola Tinubu you will support.

It is your right to do so. But I am worried hearing that what will inform the choice you will make is whom among the two has the feasible chance of winning the election.

As career politicians, your reason is understandable because no politician was to be at a losing end. Much more in Nigeria where failure is an orphan and the winner takes it all. Being in opposition is what no Nigerian career politician will contemplate.

However, I wish to remind you all that the decision you take in London is not just about yourselves, but also about the people who elected you as their governors. Their interests, wellbeing and future should be uppermost in your minds.

I cannot imagine an Ortom taking a decision not minding what lies ahead for Benue people who in the last 7 years have been traumatized, killed and maimed by the Fulani herdsmen whom Gumi said are their people. Ortom, you must consider the people Benue as you cast your vote before your colleagues.

Similarly, Ugwuanyi of Enugu State will see the ghost of over 40 Eha Amufu indigenous slaughtered by the Fulani herdsmen before he travelled to London for the G5 retreat. Like the blood of Abel crying for vengeance, Ugwuanyi must not align with any presidential candidate who will agree with Gumi not to fight bandits who are his people.

Dear Ikpeazu, what may matter to you is your political interest, but did you consult your Abia people who are predominantly christians whether they are comfortable with Muslim Muslim ticket. Or are you going to cast your vote without considering their interest.

For you, Seyi Makinde, I don’t envy you considering your dilemma in London. On one part, parapo pressure is on you. On the other justice and equity are looking at you. Will you rise above tribal interest to cast your vote for equity and justice.

For Mr Wike,  you are also faced with dilemma. To align with APC which has fought you in the last 7 years and you have consistently berated them as incapable of moving Nigeria forward until recently you began to praise Buhari for release of 13% derivation fund arrears. Will you pay him back by voting for APC Tinubu before your colleagues?  Or the Obi who before the APC primaries you contributed to his leaving PDP as you vowed to disgrace him in Anambra.

For you all just to remind you that your London trip cannot be a jamboree, but a soul searching mission on what is best for your people and the nation.

Politically you have more insight more than ordinary Nigerians by your vantage positions. Will this insight serve your personal interests or be mobilized for the common good.

History is watching and beckoning on you all to rise to be counted in this most important hour of need for the nation.

Praying for you to play the men for your people while God does what  seemeth right unto Him.

If you will ask for my advice, I will advise you all fall behind Obi-Datti ticket. It is a ticket that resolves all questions of our national challenges. It accommodates our religious diversity. It takes care of equity and justice and guarantees the much needed integrity and competence in governance.

See you after your retreat.

Ekwuluo.
