Woman and partner have been arrested in Lagos by the police for allegedly battering her two children aged 2 and 5 years.
A woman identified as Busola Oyediran and her partner, Akebiara Emmanuel, were arrested on Friday, January 13, by the police following reports by neighbours.
Concerned neighbors had reported to police the biological mother and her partner’s consistent physical abuse of the minors.
Following the report, police stormed the couple’s Egbeda/Idimu home and arrested them.
The police later went to the hospital where the battered children had been taken for treatment.
When confronted, the children’s mother claimed they were thrown from a motorcycle and suffered serious injuries.
According to the state police command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin, who confirmed the arrest to touchaheart Nigeria.
The couple is currently in detention and will be arraigned in court on Monday, January 16. He stated that the children’s father has been notified.
