Truck Driver, Ibrahim Mohammed Narrates How Gov. Obi Saved His Life

Ibrahim Muhammad, a truck driver from Katsina State described in an interview with Arise News how Peter Obi saved his life while he was being held captive in Anambra State. He disclosed that after an attack, they attempted to flee to a security formation but were stopped and held by the security personnel who mistook them for terrorists.

He added that before leaving them with the officers, the former governor of Anambra State came to them, inquired about what had happened, and instructed the security personnel to look after them well. However, he added that Peter Obi had apologized for the incident and had ordered their release a few days later.

“We went to a security formation for our safety,” he claims, “but we were arrested and held as terrorists.” But when Peter Obi arrived, he spoke with us and instructed the security guards to look after us. We were detained for a few days before a car was dispatched to pick us up, but considering how calm we were, I believe they even kept us in the government residence.

“He returned to our group and formally introduced himself as the state governor. We answered his question by explaining how it occurred. I was a driver back then, like myself. He expressed regret for what occurred. The fair Peter Obi has gaping teeth. He advised us to calm down and assured us that nothing would ever happen to us again. When we first got out, we noticed that our car had been destroyed, but when we realized that he had apologized, we accepted our fate and are thankful that he had spared our lives. Because of this, when I saw a poster and saw that Peter Obi was running, I immediately thought of him as the person who had saved my life.
